On behalf of our client, a leading company in the automotive industry, DEKRA is looking for:

  • Plant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for all operational activities and lead those activities such that financial expectations are achieved.
  • Build and develop high performance management and production teams;
  • Develop and implement plans for achieving key KPIs, that include labor and total production cost improvements;
  • Report to senior management weekly and monthly performance results along with corrective actions for KPIs not being achieved.
  • Represent the company to all government agencies, including the Ministries;
  • Improve business systems and practices that ensure 100% on time delivery, every time to all customers;
  • Establish manufacturing culture to promote and maintain zero defect methodology;
  • Responsible for continual improvement of quality performance;
  • Establish production standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered;
  • Communicate with various customer contacts on regular basis;
  • Provide guidance to the development of manufacturing process plans, including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs;
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all functions of the organization, and suppliers, to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources and machinery;
  • Review production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays;
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives and hold staff accountable for delivering assigned KPIs;
  • Direct quality improvement teams utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, data collection, SPC, reporting and charting to foster improvements;
  • Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations;
  • Ensure all company safety policies are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering field;
  • Minimum 7 years of automotive tier 1 or 2 with operations and manufacturing engineering experience;
  • Strong Lean and Six Sigma background;
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 quality system requirements;
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources;

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization and imperfect information exists;
  • Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion, or approaches to problems;
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
  • Hold direct reports and all plant personnel accountable for KPI’s.
